PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Coach Leviton is an Atlanta native. He attended high school and played soccer
at Westminster. He has a BBA degree from Emory University and Masters and
Specialist degrees in Education from Georgia State University. He taught Social
Studies for six years at Columbia High School in DeKalb County and then for 15 years
at Shiloh High School in Gwinnett County. He is in his 11th year at
Parkview teaching senior level Social Studies and coaching JV Girls soccer.
He played for many years in the Atlanta Amateur League. He earned a NSCAA
National Diploma in 1988, the equivalent of a USSF National "C"
license. He coached for three years in the Olympic Developmental Program, coaching the U13 boys and girls.
His high school coaching career includes three years as Head Girls Coach at
Southwest DeKalb High in Decatur; three years as Head Boys Coach at Peachtree
High in Dunwoody; eleven years as Head Boys Coach at Shiloh High in Snellville
and two years as Junior Varsity Boys Coach at Brookwood High in Snellville. At Shiloh, his boys became the first Gwinnett
County school to win the State Championship.
Mark and his wife, Mary Ellen, have been married for 30 years. They have one
daughter, Ginny (23), who resides in Denver and works for Americorps, and a son, Danny (17), a senior at Parkview. |
